VSLO Visiting Student Process

The VSLO  (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities) application is maintained by the Long School of Medicine. Information on that process can be found on their website: https://uthscsa.edu/medicine/education/ume/student-affairs/student-wellness/visiting-students

Visiting medical students who are doing a rotation at our institution should use the VSLO application process. If the student’s school does not use VSLO, please contact the Medical School Student Affairs team at [email protected]

If the visiting medical student is only doing a shadowing experience and not a rotation for credit back at their home institution, they can use the Formstack process.

For the Office of the Registrar to process a VSLO visiting student the following conditions must be met:

  • Visiting Student fee must be paid

Students can pay for their visit through this link:

-          Select Apply Texas Application Fee

-          Select Application Fee for Visiting Student

  • The student’s status in VSLO must be “Offer Accepted”

For more information on what the VSLO statuses mean, reference the document below or reach out to [email protected] .

The Office of the Registrar automatically creates an electronic PDF memo for all VSLO students. When completed, this will be emailed to the coordinator for that discipline. This memo is used for the visiting student to get access to Electronic Medical Records/ EPIC systems and UHS.

Memos are not required for visiting students to obtain a UT San Antonio Health Science Center badge.
