All curriculum deadlines can be found on the registrar website.
Course Changes Deadline
Course Changes can be things like:
- Adding/Deactivating course in the inventory of all courses
- Changing a course title or description
- Changing the grading basis or credit hours of a course
Course change form (Course Inventory Management) deadlines occur either:
- Right before the Schedule of Class editing (Fall).
- A month before edits to the catalog for the next academic year are due (Spring/Summer) so that these updates appear in the next catalog.
Schedule of Class Editing
Schedule of Classes changes can be things like:
- Determining what classes are going to be offered in the semester
- Indicating who the Instructors or Staff are on the class
- Setting if Permission is required for enrollment or dropping
- Setting enrollment capacity limits
Schedule of Classes editing occurs before registration of students.
Our office takes the time between the Schedule of Classes editing and student registration to perform quality checks on the Schedule of Classes. We want to ensure that the system is ready for registration so that it goes smoothly for students.
Catalog Deadlines
This is the catalog: catalog.uthscsa.edu
It's always a good idea to make changes to your catalog early.
Did you know that when you update your Admission, Degree, or Plan of Study in the catalog, you must submit a form (Program Management Form) that has anywhere from 10-30+ workflow approval steps?
These forms can take anywhere from 1-4 months to be approved!
The catalog must be fully to the registrar steps before May to allow the Registrar and the VP for Academic Faculty, and Student Affairs time to review the content. Also, we allow our vendor a few weeks to perform technical checks prior to publish on July 1st.
