How to Update the Schedule of Classes: Meeting Patterns (Optional)
Meeting patterns are used to provide class schedule information to students. This information informs the students when a class meets. This data is also used to prevent students from enrolling in classes that have a time conflict.
Entering this information into Maintain Schedule of Classes is optional.
The Meeting tab in Maintain Schedule of Classes can still be edited by the Schools/Departments after Schedule of Classes Editing has closed.
1. In Maintain Schedule of Classes, click on the Meetings tab
2. Enter information into the following fields:
Start/End Date
These dates must be within the dates listed on the Basic Data tab
The End Date on this tab DOES NOT determine when Grade Rosters open. Only the End Date field on the Basic Data tab determines when Grade Rosters open.
How to Input Irregular Meeting Patterns
Use of Multiple Rows
The Meeting Pattern section allows for multiple rows. This provides a way to input irregular meeting patterns.
Example: We have a class that goes from January 7 to May 3rd. The class usually meets Monday and Wednesday, but the class will also meet on Fridays in the month of February.
Entry:
Row 1:
Row 2:
Adding an additional row in the meeting patterns also duplicates the Instructors section of this panel.
You DO NOT need to duplicate the list of staff/faculty on this class. Only list individuals involved with this class on row 1 of the meeting pattern. For more information on adding instructors, reference How to Update the Schedule of Classes: Staff/Faculty
For additional assistance with adding meeting patterns, contact the Office of the University Registrar - Compliance and Operations Team at [email protected].
